growing up in New England, I have an ongoing infatuation with well-worn, aged, quaint and shabby. If I had my druthers, I would live on Cape Cod, in an old, weathered beach cottage full of books, fresh flowers, handmade quilts and freshly baked goodies. Surround me with the smell of the salty air,
the role of the ocean, a crisp blustery breeze, a big white porch and a backyard full of hydrangeas! I so appreciate the simple things, a sweet crunchy apple, birds on a wire, a hand-delivered cup of tea or a pair of warm cotton socks.
I have an endless affection for rusty cast-offs, elegant antiques, and flea market finds. When I am not junking or seeking the quintessential vintage bauble, I spend my time sewing slipcovers and lampshades, breaking old china for mosaics, collecting buttons and lace for mixed media projects or trying a new recipe. My wonderful home is full of things I love, an array of thrift, garage sale and flea market finds. A charming mix of all things me... my very own felicity.
I share my time between Royal Oak MI and Cape Cod MA. I am married to a kind and gentle soul, am Mom to two beautiful and ever-changing teenage daughters and my little westie, Oliver. I created my blog as a way to slow down, smell the roses and reach out to other creative, all-embracing women. I hope to create a welcoming and comfy corner where I can share my everyday life, my creative efforts and my wanderings and whereabouts. Please visit often and feel free to drop me a note!
